PINE ISLAND FLY FISHERS CLUB
The Pine Island Fly Fishers Club was created in 2014 by Capt Joe Harley and Capt. Scott Swartz. The primary focus of the club is to have noted guest speakers present and share knowledge on a wide range of topics regarding fly fishing in our local area. The club meetings are held the last Monday of every month at The Matlacha Community Center. Our meetings are October thru November. The meetings are from 6:30 - 8:00 PM and a membership is not required. A club newsletter is sent out every month to over 200 members. We have featured many guest speakers over the last few years featuring presentations on a large variety of topics from tackle, rigging, leaders, fly tying demonstrations.
Capt. Scott Swartz serves as the club Vice President, Scott has been a student of fly-fishing since 1982. He is a Master Certified Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers and holds several fly rod world records. Capt. Scott shares his passion of saltwater fly fishing at his saltwater fly fishing school in southwest Florida www.floridaflyfishingschools.com.
